The Dance

Boy took the girl's heart away from her the moment he touched her skin, it gave her goosebumps that wouldn't go away. There he had it, right in his hand. His fingers were the keys to the thought to be impossible lock, Girl made it that way, and never once had she worn her heart on her sleeve. She thought it was impossible to be addicted to a person, then Boy turned everything around and upside down and inside out and everything was changed.
Then the typical happened, Boy dropped it right in the tank of woes and misfortune. The worst part was that he convinced her that it was an accident, his grip was too soft. One would think that a heart would be something you'd always have a grip on, but then again, people get their hearts crushed every day. And to think, Girl was about to let him keep it....forever, what a silly thing to do.
Boy left and he was gone, even though Girl gave him a chance to pick it up again. It was up to her. She found it at the bottom of the tank, broken into tiny peices. She needed it back. It was very uncomfortable to have a gaping hole in her chest that was like a black hole sucking in every bad thought that she had. It took awhile and gallons of tears and glue to peice it back together. Eventually her tattered heart was intact. Although she was left with a scar and a slightly lighter beat, she was surviving.
Then another typical situation happened. She saw Man. It was quite difficult to avoid him, he was a chemically enhanced magnet. She unzipped as easily as a pair of worn pants and practically threw her broken heart at him. But Man, he was different, he caught it easily and his grip had such an affect she felt the tug of a strong hold. Then something completely took Girl off gaurd. Man handed Girl his own heart. It weighed a ton, and she was a bit afraid to have such a big responsibility, but she never wanted anything more in her life. As she looked down at it she noticed he too had some scars and dirt crushed into it.
Girl took the heart home and gave it a makeover. She did everything she could to make it's beat a bit harder. When she saw Man again he looked like he had been dipped in a refreshing pool of laughter. Girl noticed she felt quite better herself. It seemed they had repaired each other's hearts with the love that kept growing and growing and soon the old scars and typical hurts were healed.
Boy never came to Girl's mind ever again. Man had built a wall up around her heart and he would never let anything happen to it. And as for the Man's heart, Girl would never let him go, she promised she would never break it, only give it all she had.
